Grin and Bear It
June 8, 2007
Scientists have plans to invent a robotic teddy bear within the next five years which will be able to save wounded soldiers from the battlefield, it’s been reported.
The impressive creation will be able to carry harmed soldiers up stairs, across bumpy ground and through doorways and can lift them in one swift movement – its ‘friendly appearance’ expected to put the wounded at ease.
Although if it was me, I’d have a bloody heart attack if a 6 foot robotic bear lifted me up.
The seeing and hearing creation is also being looked at in hospitals to lift the slightly heavier patients.
This really is technology at its best, helping where people are in need. But it’s darn freaky as well. Remember all those years ago when we used to watch movies or hear fictional stories about robot assistants? Well now it’s not so fictional.
I look forward to this one…
